This page features some of the appeals we've had on this site to raise funds to save space for wildlife. This is a mission of mine - to join up the dots for wildlife so that they've got space to move freely and safely. This page will hopefully be getting lots more info, with details of space saved and links to those organisations doing the saving. Please watch this space!
Vital Ground in Montana have a mission: "to protect and restore North America’s grizzly bear populations for future generations by conserving wildlife habitat and by supporting programs that reduce conflicts between bears and humans." The Cut Bank Creek Project will help - The project saves key habitat (540 acres) that the bears and wildlife need to move freely to and from the protected areas. 136 supporters raised $24,840 (as at 25 April 2025) online which surpassed the target of $22,000.
Build a hedgehog highway - give hedgehogs access to gardens
Help hedgehogs move freely from one space to another by simply putting a 13 cm x 13 cm squrare hole in your fence for them to get through. Get your neighbours involved too! The British Hedgehog Preservation Society has lots of info on how to help hedgehogs and please look at Hedgehog Street - why not become a Hedgehog Champion for your area and create lots of hedgehog highways?
