Buy an Acre/Sponsor an Acre in the UK
Buy an Acre/Sponsor an Acre schemes give you the chance to do something really meaningful for conservation and wildlife, and to be a part of a something bigger to help protect wildlife and their habitat.
As well as lots of schemes you can join to help wildlife outside the UK, there are a number of opportunities within it too and here are some of them - all images are copyright to the charities:
Protect wild mountain landscapes by adopting an acre on four iconic mountains – Ben Nevis, Schiehallion, Bl Bheinn on Skye or Ladhar Bheinn in Knoydart. They have wild gifts in their online shop so that you can help a habitat e.g. peatlands, mountain woodland, plant a tree or sponsor an acre.
Help to restore a beautiful forest in the Scottish Highlands. Every acre that is sponsored will help Trees for Life expand the Caledonian pinewoods for a huge range of plants and animals, create woodland glades and wildflower meadows, protect the trees in the montane woodlands supporting birds and insects, and restore wetlands and mires. It will also help create forest habitat networks, so vital for wildlife so that they can roam freely.
The Woodland Trust has a number of appeals so you can choose which one you'd like (or donate to more than one!). Mourne Park in Northern Ireland, Couldoran Appeal in the West Highlands and the Green Farm Appeal in Norfolk all need donations. Or you could also donate to the Woodland Trust's 50th Birthday Appeal.
