There's to be a new Panda Centre in China

Panda charity Pandas International emailed with news that on 28th February, it was announced that Beijing will open a conservation base in 2025.   The construction is underway – it will span an area of about 133 hectares in forest park, in the southwestern district of the capital.

The first base covers 63.5 hectares.  It will be home to 40 pandas, as well as other animals such as golden monkeys and red pandas.

The completed conservation base is expected to host 50 pandas in all, and a giant panda cultural exchange centre will be set up to promote the protection of pandas.

More panda cubs at the Qinling Giant Panda Research Centre!

Pandas International donated 349 bags of Esbilac formula for the panda cubs at the Qinling Giant Panda Research Centre.   The formula helps cubs to survive if they have been rejected by their mothers, or if the mum has had twins and can only care for a cub at a time.
In 2023, the Qinling centre welcomed seven beautiful new panda cubs, and it was thanks to the charity’s donors that Pandas International were able to keep the cubs happy and healthy. Well done, everyone!
